At the core of my practice is an examination of, and emotional response to, the human categorisation of the natural world, our place within it and what ‘remains’ after death.
I’ve come to recognise that my practice is an exercise in building a single body of work made up of groups of works that are responses to specific institutions/collections, or perhaps even an attempt to create my own ‘collection’.
Typically, each body of work is an interaction with a specific institution where I immerse myself in the collections, categorised objects and the spaces within which they are displayed. My work is an emotional response to a displayed object's resonance.
